The BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe – a new 4-door, 4+1 seat addition to the 6 Series line successfully combines the stunning proportions, design and driving dynamics of the 6 Series Coupe with interior room and amenities for up to five passengers.

LEXUS NEW HYBRID SPORTS COUPE

Lexus has unveiled a new design concept for a hybrid 2+2 sport coupe at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, a driver-focused vehicle that displays a possible future design direction for the premium manufacturer.

Introducing the concept, Karl Schlicht, General Manager, Lexus Product and Marketing Planning
Division in North America, said: "We are in the middle of the biggest change in Lexus's history,
inspired by a new generation of distinctive design.

"The new GS embodies this with its sculpted spindle grille as our symbol of change. And now, the
next chapter of Lexus evolves with this coupe design concept. With its striking looks, this
concept hybrid 2+2 hints at the design cues that are coming in a wave of new Lexus models over
the next two years."

Rolls Celebrates Historic Sales

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has revealed record sales results for 2011. 3,538 cars were sold globally during the year, a 31 per cent increase on the 2010 total of 2,711 cars. The figure represents the best sales result in the company’s 107-year history; the previous record of 3,347 cars having been set in 1978 during the Silver Shadow II era.

                                                                                                                            

Strong sales growth was reported across the globe, with notable results seen in Asia Pacific (up 47%), North America (up 17%) and the Middle East (up 23%). China and the United States were the most significant individual markets for Rolls-Royce. The United Kingdom performed well, reporting 30 per cent growth in the year. In Continental Europe, Germany and Russia were the largest growth markets, each more than doubling sales compared to 2010.

 The company’s portfolio includes the pinnacle Phantom family products - Phantom, Phantom Extended Wheelbase, Phantom Drophead Coupé and Phantom Coupé - and the more recently-launched Ghost range. Demand for all variants was strong. Interest in Ghost - including Ghost Extended Wheelbase, launched to wide acclaim in April - accounted for the lion’s share of 2011 growth.

2011 also marked a record for the Rolls-Royce Bespoke personalization programme, a service with Rolls-Royce’s legendary hand-craftsmanship and attention to detail at its core. Nearly every Phantom family model leaving the Home of Rolls-Royce at Goodwood came with some element of bespoke personalization, from unique paint colors, interior detailing and embroidery, to exquisite whole vehicle designs including champagne sets, humidors and picnic sets.

2012 Custom Bike Show to hold in Beaulieu, UK

UK – Following a successful inaugural Custom Motorcycle Show held in Bournemouth earlier this year, Ocean Events is delighted to announce that from 2012, the show will be held annually at Beaulieu, home of the world famous National Motor Museum, in the heart of the New Forest.

 The 2012 show will be held in the Beaulieu parkland on the 16th and 17th June, when visitors will not only be able to enjoy The Custom Motorcycle Show, but also the established annual Hot Rod & Custom Car Festival plus all the other attractions that Beaulieu has to offer.

 Hundreds of world class custom motorcycles will also be on show, with over 70 bikes entering the AMD World Championship of Custom Bike Building.  

There will be several categories for the bike builders including Freestyle, Modified Harley, Period Chopper, Daily Rider and Street fighter/Performance Custom. There will be hundreds of exhibitors including custom bike dealers, custom accessories and hard parts, plus the Vendors and Merchandise Village.

McLaren MP4-12C

McLaren opened its first German showroom just in time for the 2011 Formula One German Grand Prix. On display in the showroom is the McLaren MP4-12C which features a revolutionary carbon fibre chassis structure, the first time a car in this market segment is based around such a strong and lightweight racing car engineering solution.

This step change in sports car design means that the 12C introduces new standards not just in handling, ride and outright performance, but also safety, economy and practicality in an already competitive sector.

The McLaren MP4-12C, is a high performance two-seat mid-engine model in the ‘core’ sports car market segment for cars costing between £125,000 and £175,000.

2012 PORSCHE 918 SPYDER (HYBRID)
The Porsche 918 Spyder is the first plug-in hybrid car from Porsche. It is equipped with a 3.4 liter V8 engine supplemented by three electric motors delivering 218 horsepower. The 7-speed gearbox system incorporates a double clutch delivering power to the rear axle. The 918 spyder is capable of a 0-100 km/h dash in 3.2 seconds and tops out at about 320 km/h. ASTON MARTIN VIRAGE
The Virage is a new entry that sits between the DB9 and the DBS. It is powered by a 6.0 liter V12 producing 490hp. The interior of the Virage is handcrafted and this takes up to 70 hours for each vehicle.

2012 BMW M5
The power plant is an all new 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8, similar to the engine found in the X5M producing around 550bhp. It delivers power to the rear wheels via a seven-speed double-clutch ’box. You can expect it to shoot from a standing start to 100kmh in around 4.5 seconds and continue to an electronically limited top speed of 248kmh.

The Lexus LF-Gh hybrid concept takes the company’s L-Finesse design philosophy one step forward and combines style, performance, efficiency, and environmental compatibility with advanced, new technologies.
