Mercedes-AMG GT Concept show car

As part of its 50th anniversary, Mercedes-AMG is celebrating a successful past while also continuing to look forward. With the Mercedes-AMG GT Concept show car, the sports car and performance brand is giving an indication of the alternative drive configurations AMG is designing.

This four-door coupe heralds a further extension of the AMG GT family, following the legacy of the SLS AMG and AMG GT, which were completely developed at AMG’s headquarters in Affalterbach. The drive system of the AMG GT Concept represents a completely new development.

In 2010, Mercedes-AMG proved that a super sports car with a battery/electric drive system can be realized with the SLS AMG Electric Drive.

Additionally, Formula 1 driving dynamics and impressive efficiency are promised by the planned AMG Hypercar, which will give a sneak preview of the ultimate application of what is currently feasible with hybrid technology.

Following the AMG brand pledge "Driving Performance," Mercedes-AMG will develop segment-specific hybrids in the future that will boast impressive performance and maximum efficiency.

Land Rover unveils the All-New Range Rover Velar

Land Rover has revealed its All-New Range Rover Velar, designed to fill the white space between the Range Rover Evoque and Range Rover Sport. The Velar brings a new dimension of glamour, modernity and elegance to the Range Rover family, offering levels of luxury, refinement and all-terrain capability never before seen in the mid-size SUV segment.

Created using Jaguar Land Rover’s Lightweight Aluminium Architecture, the Velar is defined by a visually reductive approach and meticulous attention to precision in every detail, which evolves Range Rover DNA and previews the next generation of Range Rover vehicles. Velar’s design is beautifully balanced, from its powerful proportions to its continuous waist line through to the taut tapered lines of the rear. The generous wheelbase contributes significantly to its elegance while helping to provide a spacious interior.

Design enabling technology has been engaged fully to create the new Touch Pro Duo infotainment system which is the centerpiece of Velar’s interior. Touch Pro Duo features two 10-inch high-definition touchscreens integrated seamlessly behind secret-until-lit surfaces.
The Velar delivers exceptional levels of crash protection that meets crash test regulations worldwide. Combined with a comprehensive restraints system that includes six airbags, and a suite of advanced driver assistance systems including Adaptive Cruise Control with Queue Assist and an Adaptive Speed Limiter, the Velar integrates the latest safety technology.

Exceptional performance and efficiency comes from the range of four petrol and diesel powertrains, all matched to smooth-shifting ZF eight-speed automatic transmissions and all-wheel drive with Intelligent Driveline Dynamics.
